SK Chairperson is a council meant to represent the youth in each barangay here in the Philippines. It was put on hold but not quite abolished, prior to the 2013 barangay elections. The newly elected SK Chairperson leads the Sangguniang Kabataan, a local youth development council or LYDC composed of representatives of different local youth groups that supports the SK Council and it’s programs.
Sangguniang Kabataan and Katipunan ng Kabataan, (KK) were created through the Local Government Code of 1991 Republic Act 7160 that provides opportunity for young people to directly participate in local governance; composed of all youth ages 15 to 21 years old. On January 2016, the Sangguniang Kabataan Reform Law or Republic Act No. 10742 was signed into law which made some significant changes to the Sangguniang Kabataan. It changed the age of the council from 15 to 17 years old to 18 to 24 years old and it forbids individuals from seeking a youth council appointment who are closer than the second degree of consanguinity from any elected or appointed official in the same are. It is the Philippine law with an Anti-Political Dynasty restriction for elected positions. The reform also created a Local Youth Development Council to support the Sangguniang Kabaatn council and its projects or programs. It composed of representatives from different youth organizations in the community including student councils, churches and youth faith groups, youth serving organizations and community-based youth groups.
Campaign days, it was really a tiring weeks or months, but when you see those people who supported you wholeheartedly even if you do not give them anything you will love and supported by those people who trust you. All of your hard works are being paid by their acceptance and their smiles. If you want to be accepted by the youth of your community, you need to be real and don’t be hypocrite. Just be real, and give them the projects and the platforms that you will give to your community. Do not use any black propaganda just give them the capability as a SK Chairperson, or even the credentials that you have.
Being a SK Chairman, of course first of all you need to be perfect epitome of the youth and for the second you need to be the voice of the youth and to be their representative in other barangay. Well, technically you need to have platforms, not just league, basketball league, volleyball league but at least a substantial project or programs. For example, board games, mini library in your barangay, or at least environmental project like clean and green, enhance the social, political, economic, cultural, spiritual a physical development of the members and to conduct fund-raising activities or some sort of things that really substantial in the community not just for re-creational purpose. The elected SK Chairperson is expected to come up with the Comprehensive Barangay Youth Development Program or the CBYDP it is a 3-year rolling plan that should be aligned with the Philippine Youth Development Plan or the PYDP, among other youth-centered laws and ordinances.
Just like the other government officials, being a Sangguniang Kabataan Chairperson also has perks of benefits from the government one is, the SK Chairperson are entitled to free tuition in public tertiary schools, among other privileges given by the law. Republic Act 10742 or also known as the The Sangguaniang Kabataan Reform Act of 2015 lays out these perks, free tuition and other matriculation fees in any public tertiary school. These schools include state colleges, universities, and other locally-funded public -educational institutions. Exemption from taking the National Service Training Program (NSTP) and Civic-Welfare Training Service (CWTS) that is usually required for college students. Exemption from attending regular classes that fall on the same day as SK Meetings. Also, SK Chairperson is covered by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation by the national government.

b: the action or power of moving the intellect or emotions

c: the act of influencing or suggesting opinions

There’s a lessons after mistakes, there’s happiness after sadness and there are reasons for everything to happen. Why some people keeping their heads up? and does people choose to back-down from challenges or struggles? how to be motivated? how to increase your confidence? what do you think what’s wrong with you? or there is something missing about you? we have a lot of questions into our lives, like, why am I like this? why I have to be like this? why this should be happen?

In this section, were going to talk about on where you can be inspired. YES! This is all about inspiration. You? what is your inspiration? I think, everything is inspiration. What I’m seeing, what I am hearing and what am I doing, those are inspiration. One of the best inspiration is imagination, just try to imagine those things that you cannot expect to execute and by that you can build up your confidence. Always bring your smile, be positive all the time. don’t be afraid of having a mistakes, it will help you yo improve more, if you have a lot of mistakes, it’s okay, make them all right so you can be motivated as always, in everything you do.

Sometimes we have to stand alone, we gave to make our own decisions, because looking for anyone help can be prone to having a difficulties in decision making, sometimes we have to stand alone from our mistakes, to motivate ourselves and to be inspired. having a mistake is the best lesson. Unfortunately it will test yourself on how to be an individual person. If you are extrovert, it is easy for you to have an motivation because you are expressive, you can find motivation from everything you do because you are proud of being you while introverts are a hard in getting an inspiration because of having lack of confidence. They are actually more negative than extroverts they do not believe on their self, introverts must choose to keep problems instead of telling it to to someone.

But once the introverts already build up themselves, they were more serious and stronger that they are before or what we call, cold-hearted person. The unexpected things and unbelievable works will go through smoothly, they hate competence and arguments but if their confidence increased, they don’t want to be on least. Their aim is to be on the top level always that is their outcome of being inspired. Extrovert goal is to escape from problems, which is actually bad but forgetting from pain is effective to make them motivate they become more sociable, more careful in decision making, they mostly choose to be neutral instead of choosing only one decision if there is something wrong with your goal, you have to change your method not your goal because, goal will never be a mistake and method has its process wherein you are doing your own step by step process to get you goal try to do this and it will result you a success to everybody you are not weak and always say “I am a human and I don’t back–down from challenges and obstacles” though you don’t have super powers, you still have the power of mind in this world wherein you at, you don’t have to live as a hard worker person but a smart worker instead. just always believe no one is stupid. 

I always tell to myself, these things, and it actually helps me to do something better. “I can figure it out. Or, I am figuring it out.” “Whatever happens is for a higher purpose.” “I’ll make it through this. Or, I am making it through this.” “I am strong. I am resilient. I’m a survivor.” “I can. I can do it.” We all have different ways on making people feel that there will always be hope in everything, because really, after all the things that happened to your life there’s a hope, there’s a rainbow after every rain. Challenges are what make life more interesting, and overcoming them is what makes life meaningful. Your pain is challenging you, rise up from your sadness, frustration, and low spirits, and allow the privilege of life’s challenges to be your guiding companion.

Do you see yourself without a goal? you are nothing if you don’t have any goal, that is why you need to be inspired to catch your goal. We must have a theme, a goal, a purposes in our lives. If you don’t know where you’re aiming, you don’t have a goal. I know that each and everyone of us has a goal in our life, it’s just a matter of time where, how and when we can reach it. We’re not taught to let go, we taught to make it happen, we taught to fight even that our mind says that we cannot make it, but our heart says we’re going to make it. We all have different ways on making people feel that there will always be hope in everything. There will come a time in our life that we will be suffering from pain but all we have to do is to find that little hope and never stop chasing the things that we want to have. Don’t worry about failures, worry about the chances you miss when you don’t even try,

We have flaws, life isn’t perfect, but I know someday, we will going to make it. Life is painful sometimes. There’s no way around that. But let’s not make it worse by amplifying and adding to the negative thoughts that happen to arise in our mind. Bring color to your life, live with it. Go on your path, even if you live for a day. Even if you’re not perfect, you’re limited edition. You are you.  

 As, Julia Barretto said on her Instagram post, “May this year be the year of getting out of our comfort zone, surrendering and most of all, living..” “It’s when you learn to love yourself that you learn to fly.” Spread your wings, no one cannot cut your wings, you are brave enough to fight in everything. Learn to fly. Make the best out of it.

You’re going to go through tough times, I know, that’s life, always see the positive in negative. Believe you can and you are halfway there. We will not finish this race until we get our dreams.

“I am Sarah Margarette Faurillo Joson and I’m your Binibining Public Servant…”

Ms. Sarah Margarette Faurillo Joson, 25 years old, female, youngest among five children. A degree holder of Business Administration Major in Human Resources Development Management, she also have a civil service eligibility, professional second level and a wanderer. She traveled some Asia’s countries with her long-time boyfriend, Cliff Irvine. Mr. Irvine is also a Best Model of the World 2016 & Mister Philippines.

Ms. Joson belongs to a family of politicians. Her father is a former Barangay Chairman from 1997 to 2010 a 3-termer chairman and said that before that her father is Barangay Councilor from 1989 to 1997. And her eldest sister is a former SK Chairperson just like her. They also have relatives from the northern part of the Philippines who were elected as Governor, Vice Governor, Congressman and etc. This family really loves to serve people, indeed.

Ms. Joson is really into being public servant, because ever since she was a child, she saw how passionate her father while serving their community. Her father even resigned from his job as a foreman just to focus on public service. Ms. Joson said “That’s difficult for the family because we were five siblings and the family’s income is lower than the needed so my mama decided to put up a sari-sari store just to support my papa’s endeavors of being a public servant. That’s the story I always look up to whenever I feel down.”

Since, this is a Personality Profile I also asked her what’s her favorite color and why she chose this kind of color and she answered “My favorite is white because I’m always a fan of simplicity and authenticity and for me white stands for those words.” It was a really good chance to interview one of the Binibining Pilipinas 2018 Finalist before she represent our very own country, to Puglia, Italy for Miss Progress International 2019.

The Binibining Pilipinas is a national beauty pageant in the Philippines that selects Filipinas representatives to compete in two of the Big Four major international beauty pageants; namely the Miss Universe and Miss International and selects four other title-holders to participate in minor international pageants such as Miss Supranational, Miss Intercontinental, Miss Grand International and Miss Globe.

Miss Progress International is an international beauty pageant that stands for promoting projects about Health, Human Rights, Environment and Cultural Integration. Being a representative of our country to compete on one of the prestigious competition is such an honor because she’s not just representing herself but also the whole country according to Ms. Margarette Joson.

She also joined in Miss Republic of the Philippines 2015 where she ended as Top 15, Miss World 2016 as Top 12. Miss World is the oldest running international beauty pageant. It was created in the United Kingdom by Eric Morley in 1951. The currents Miss World is Vanessa Ponce of Mexico who was crowned on 8 December 2018 in Sanya, China. She is the first Mexican woman to win Miss World. And also, the Bb. & Ginoong Republic de Filipinas 2017 as 1^st runner up and Miss Naitas Face of Tourism 2017a as Grand Winner and Bb. Pilipinas 2018 Finalist. She is now set to compete for the title Miss Progress International 2019 in Puglia, Italy.

Her Binibing Pilipinas experience was a bit tiring buy very very fun according to Ms. Joson. At first, she thought of not continuing it anymore because of pressure and all. “But as the day goes by and we are getting along with each other I found the perfect place to call my second home and that’s being with the other girls. Sometimes you just really need to relax and let the day passed by. And if there’s one thing I learned from Binibining Pilipinas 2018, that’s being true to yourself and to others.”

I asked her, what pageants have she already joined and she answered, “My very first pageant was 8 years ago. I really don’t have plans of joining any pageants because my passion is really dancing, but fate brought me to pageantry. That was the time that our representative was not available and since I’m the tallest on our class, they decided that I should be their representative. Fortunately I won, years passed and there’s no more plans of joining until 2015 that my sales manager convinced me to give it another try and that’s my first ever national pageants is MISS REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES 2015 where I ended as Top 15.”

I also asked her what’s her favorite quotation and why, she answered “I’m not fond of quotations but I’ll give you my favorite verse instead.

            According to, West Country Christian Home Educators, Knowing the only True God means having an intimate, personal relationship with Him – not just knowing about Him. The first and great Commandment is: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind; and love your neighbor as yourself.” (Luke 10:27)

She considered everyday as her happy day because she always look at life optimistically. According to Ms. Sarah, “Happiest day is just a bonus and that for me is the day when I’m with my family & friends.” 

“..You’ll never enjoy your life, living inside the box…” as Greyson Chance said. Living life to the fullest and achieving our dreams has always been the number one goal in our entire life. These kind of experiences are nice and great to remember and we will keep this memories until the very end. Always remember that no matter what happened in your life, there’s a person, there’s an opportunity, there’s a reason to live your life outside the box  Fear can be constructive. Don’t let fears be the gatekeeper to your dreams. Do not make it as virus. Be fearless always and in all ways.

It’s a fangirl thing that you wouldn’t understand.

My hearts beats so fast, they are the ones who puts the biggest smile on my face, I smiled, I cried, I can’t speak, whenever I see them.

Some people says “nag-aaksaya ka lang ng pera at pagod dyan, hindi ka naman mapapansin niya.” “She’s a snob.” “She doesn’t care about you.” “She didn’t even know you” “Why do you still keep supporting her?” Even, myself, sometimes I don’t know why I love them, why do I keep supporting them. It’s just like that one day, poof! I like her! I want to support her, I want to meet her.

Definition of fangirl: a girl or woman who is an extremely or overly enthusiastic fan of someone or something.

A rabid breed of human female who is obesessed with either a fictional character or an actor. Similar to the breed of fanboy. Fangirls congregate at anime conventions and livejournal. Have been known to glomp, grope, and tackle when encountering said obesessions.

Urban Dictionary said, “who is obsessed with an actor..” yes, there’s a different fangirling track. Books, Anime, Movies, Bands, Fictional Character and Actor, Actress. In my track, I’m in Actor and Actress.

I had so much, fangirl-ing experience since 2012. When I was 14 years old I used to travel alone just to meet my idols. North, and South. My parents didn’t know about that. My bad. I used to get-along with the people I only know in the internet, I met them, chit-chat with them, the only topic we always talked is all about our idols, “What do you like her/him?” “Why do you supported her/him?” raising banners, cheering for our idols. Anything, every little thing that we can do to make our idols happy and feel that they are loved by so many people around the world.

Whenever they have a mall shows, tapings, shooting, tv guesting, I always followed them, I always do not miss the opportunity because it’s my chance to see them, to take a photo with them!

Greyson Chance is the one who opened my mind in this kind of world that I am living who can only understand, is no other than are fangirls and fanboys. I started to like him, when I watched his video, which is Paparazzi. In that kind of age, he has a very good voice. After that, I created my twitter account, I’ve met a lot of people, created a circle of friends, but yes I’m a fangirl but I am not able to buy his albums, eps, magazines, merchandise, anything that are related to him, cause I don’t enough money to spend. I am broke af. Hahahaha. Just like that, I only support him through online, view his profile every day, listened to his song that makes my heart feel so loved.

Time flies, he visits Philippines for his Asia Tour many times. But I couldn’t meet him, you know. I am broke, I don’t have enough money to spend. Years passed, June 26 2016 I met him!!!! We waited for almost, 10 hours or more.

They say, when you see your idol you’re going to cry because of happiness. Tears of joy, rather. But, I didn’t. I looked at him, I looked at his precious smile, his perfect face, and I am so speechless, I want to say, “Thank you so much for inspiring me through your song, thank you so much for visiting Philippines. But I can’t. He said “Thank you” to me. As much As I want to say something, I can’t and I really don’t know why. But hey, since i have enough money to buy his EP, I bought his SOMH EP and it has a signature of him.

Beanca Marie Binene or also known as Bea Binene catch my attention after I watched their movie with GMA Tweens, which is Tween Academy: Class of 2012, his character as George really suits her personality. She always face her fears. I become an admin of her fansclub, and become a personal assistant. I am so lucky to be on her side in on cam and off cam. I am so blessed, to know her family, I am so lucky to be with her in tapings or shootings. I am so blessed to know her personality. She even give me a cake on my 18^th and 19^th birthday, I am so blessed that she gives me time to buy a cake for my birthday. I am so lucky to know the other side of her. All I can say is, I am blessed and lucky to know a woman like her on and off cam.

Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto or JoshLia tandem is the only loveteam that I love and supporting them through live and online. It was December 31, 2016 new year is coming, I said “Hindi ko papalagpasing tong taon na ‘to na hindi ko napapanuod yung Vince and Kath and James.” That’s why before the year ends, I watched their movie with Ronnie Alonte, in Robinsons Ermita. I become a fan of their tandem since 2016. I was given a chance to watch ‘Tonight with Boy Abunda’ live, and it was January 5, 2017. The first time I saw Joshua Garcia and took a photo with him.I was so nervous back then, it is my first to meet him so close, really close.

As time goes by, March 8, 2017 we surprised Julia Barretto in A love to last taping. She so pretty, too perfect to be human. I gave her brownies, sang a Happy Birthday song, had a little chit chat with my co-fangirl, took a photo with them, and of course this is opportunity I also took a photo with Julia.

I am a fangirl. Who love their faces and personality, who love their pictures in instagram, who tweeted compliments in twitter, who like their facebook post, who stalked them in their Instagram stories. Anything that is related to them, that’s makes me happy. We scream, we laughed, we cried, and we also go to their get together.

Being a fangirl means we live our life to the fullest, to fact that even you are so down, just to see your idols on pictures, watch their videos, their tweet advices on twitter you will feel something in your heart that even yourself can’t explain it. You will feel complete, you will feel that you are loved by them, not just by your family, but also your online friends.

Yes, to those who are asking, being a fangirl is easy? Yes, it’s easy for me. Because I love what I am doing, I want to make them happy, vice versa, they made me happy in every little thing they do for us. In their mallshows, we scream as if there’s no tomorrow, and I really don’t care if other people think it’s weird, it’s crazy. I don’t care, I am living my life with this kind of world that they don’t even know what make us happy. They don’t even know what our struggle just to see our idols person, besides people always want to say something, positive or negative. They always judge without any reason or just because it is weird for them? I do love people who understand us, who do not judge us.

Some people say that we are lack of social kills, and it is wrong. We always have a lot to say something that we can’t say to those people who do not understand us. So we keep it in ourselves, and we choose to say these things to our co-fangirl. Being a fangirl isn’t really the loneliest thing, in fact we are one of happiest people in this world because of our celebrity crushes, favorite bands, favorite books, and favorite movies.

I will never ever forget the people who helped me in my fangirling life, I will never regret the fact that I am supporting Greyson Chance, Bea Binene and JoshLia. Never in my entire life. They make me happy, they always inspire me, vice versa.

Being a fangirl, will teach you a lesson that no matter what happened, someone will always be there for you, there’s always a waiting room for you. Being a fangirl, can escape you from the reality.

In my early age, I explore the world of being a fangirl, people come, and people go, people will say something bad, and something good. Even though the people who know you by your face, not in your name, you will love them endlessly, unconditionally because that’s how fangirl works. You don’t care if they don’t know you personally, you care more about how you will make them the happiest person in their world.

I saw a tweet a long time ago, saying “ if someone is excited about something and you make them feel stupid for being excited about it, you’re the worst type of person..” do not judge us, just because you do not understand us. You will never ever understand “The Feels” that we are always saying, if you don’t live in our world.
